Police have arrested a person from Palasbari area of ​​Kamrup for kidnapping a child from Guwahati, Assam.

According to reports, the man had kidnapped a two-year-old child from Borgaon area of ​​Guwahati, Assam and took him to Palashbari in an attempt to escape.

The accused was identified as Pabitra Das, resident of Bijaynagar.

The report claims that he allegedly had an "extramarital affair" with the child's mother.

He was allegedly pressurizing the child's mother to run away with him but she refused.

However, to force her to flee, he allegedly kidnapped the child.

However, based on the mother's complaint, the police immediately located Das and rescued the child.

The report further claimed that Das took the child in front of the mother. A car has also been recovered from the accused.

Furthermore, the accused told the police that he was planning to commit suicide by jumping into the Brahmaputra river along with his child.
