In a thrilling encounter at Euro 2024, England clinched a spot in the quarter-finals by defeating Slovakia 2-1 after extra time. Gareth Southgate's squad faced an early setback when Ivan Schranz netted for Slovakia in the 25th minute, putting England on the brink of elimination as the match approached injury time.

However, Jude Bellingham delivered a moment of magic, scoring a spectacular equalizer in the dying seconds to force extra time. England's captain, Harry Kane, then provided the decisive goal early in the first half of extra time, securing the lead. Despite a few tense moments, England held on to their advantage.

With this victory, Southgate's team will now face Switzerland in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals on Saturday. Should they advance, the semi-final is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10.

Germany celebrated their return to the Euro 2024 quarter-finals for the first time in eight years, thanks to goals from Kai Havertz and Jamal Musiala in a 2-0 victory over Denmark at Dortmund’s Signal Iduna Park.

The hosts dominated from the outset and thought they had taken an early lead, but Nico Schlotterbeck's goal was disallowed due to a prior foul. The match experienced a brief halt due to severe weather around the half-hour mark. In the second half, Denmark's Joachim Andersen had a goal ruled out for offside, involving Thomas Delaney.

Andersen was later penalized for a handball in the box, leading to a penalty which Havertz converted in the 53rd minute to break the deadlock. Havertz nearly doubled the lead shortly after, but failed to beat Schmeichel in a one-on-one situation.

Denmark's offensive efforts increased, but Manuel Neuer was up to the task, notably denying Hojlund in the 66th minute. Schlotterbeck then set up Musiala, who sealed the victory with a superb strike into the top right corner two minutes later, confirming Germany's spot in the quarter-finals.
