State Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton has urged the Confederation of Nagaland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CNCCI) and its district branches to trust the law enforcement agencies and the state government and stop the current shutter-down strike.
Patton stressed that the state government is fully aware of the challenges faced by the business community. Further, he underlined that strict instructions have been issued to both law enforcement and district administration to prioritize security measures. To ensure the safety and conducive business environment of the business community in the State through joint efforts of Police, District Administration and Chamber of Commerce officials.
The Deputy Chief Minister reminded that the State Government had in the past issued several instructions to the law enforcement agency to instill confidence in the community and establish 24×7 communication mechanism with them, hence take necessary action immediately on any such cases of extortion.
Patton said all important contact numbers of police and administrative officials are in the public domain for timely reporting of any complaint.
The Deputy Chief Minister urged the business community to acknowledge the efforts made by the police and administration, and encourage their cooperation in solving the problems faced by them. Additionally, they stressed the importance of ensuring effective implementation of the ground rules of the ceasefire.
