Security Forces Dismantle Bunker and Recover Weapons in Manipur's Imphal Districts

In a concerted effort to reduce the ongoing ethnic tensions in Manipur, security forces successfully dismantled a bunker and seized a significant cache of arms, ammunition, explosives, and warlike materials from two critical locations in the valley districts on Monday, according to police reports on Tuesday.
Operations focused on search and area domination were carried out by the security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Imphal West and Imphal East districts.
During one operation in Kadangband, Imphal West District, an illegal bunker was dismantled. The security forces recovered an assortment of weapons from the bunker, including a Heckler & Koch assault rifle, an SLR, a carbine, three .32 pistols, a 9mm pistol, and three 12-inch single-barrel guns.
In another operation at Tera Karong Village in Imphal East District, the forces seized two country-made rifles, five HE-36 hand grenades, four detonators, one stun grenade, and two tear gas shells.
The police stated that all recovered items have been handed over to the respective police station for further action.
