Manipur: Two killed, one injured in attack by suspected militants in Kangpokpi

Suspected militants allegedly chased at least three people, dragged them on the road and beat them at gunpoint in Manipur's Kangpokpi, killing two and seriously injuring another.
Officials said on Sunday that this incident came to light from Motbung market in Kangpokpi district of Manipur.
A group of suspected underground people allegedly captured three people around 5:45 pm on Saturday, an official said.
The three were allegedly accused of using drugs and extorting cash from truck drivers at Motbung market on National Highway 102, which connects Imphal to Nagaland's commercial hub Dimapur, an official said.
Jaminglal, 38, a resident of Kangpokpi district, died on the way to Letpao hospital.
Another victim of the incident, identified as Haominthang, 37, a resident of Thangbangjung village in the same district, was taken to a hospital in Dimapur.
However, police said the situation was under control and efforts were being made to nab the armed men. More information is awaited.
