Assam: Alleged Robber Injured in Police Shooting in Boko

On Sunday, a man suspected of robbery was shot and injured by police in the Lampara area of Boko, Kamrup, Assam.
The injured individual has been identified as 36-year-old Kenaram Basumatary, also known as Moto. Reports indicate that he is believed to have participated in numerous robberies in the area.
Sources revealed that Basumatary was initially arrested on Friday and held in police custody. However, during the night between Saturday and Sunday, he attempted to escape. In response, the police resorted to controlled gunfire to prevent his escape.

Following the incident, Basumatary was found injured and subsequently transported to the Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) for medical treatment.
Further information from the source indicated that Basumatary has been involved in various robbery and theft-related activities throughout Assam and Meghalaya. He is reportedly the leader of a gang that specializes in ATM thefts and robberies.
Authorities are currently investigating to identify and apprehend other individuals connected to Basumatary's criminal activities.
