On Friday, a re-poll was held at polling statio On Friday n no. 4 in Ward 20 under the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), which concluded without any disturbances. Out of the 1,048 registered voters, 803 participated in the re-poll. Stringent security measures were implemented at the polling station and surrounding areas to ensure the re-poll proceeded smoothly. Entry was restricted to individuals with valid voter ID cards from Ward 20’s designated polling station, and they were prohibited from bringing mobile phones, bags, and accessories inside.
Access was strictly controlled, limited to designated officials with passes from the State Election Commission, while observers from political parties and candidates were denied entry. Voters underwent two levels of security checks: the first at the gate by executive assistant commissioners (EACs) and the second inside the station by presiding officers. Special provisions were made for senior citizens and pregnant women, allowing them to vote early despite the long queues.
Voters expressed satisfaction with the security arrangements, praising the district administration and the commissioner of police for ensuring the re-poll was conducted smoothly.
Meanwhile, security personnel at the polling station detained 10 individuals, including proxy voters and individuals from other wards and polling stations.

Overall Polling Percentage: 81.98%
State Election Commissioner TJ Longkumer reported that the overall poll percentage for all municipalities, after updating, stands at 81.98%. The counting of votes for the Municipal and Town Council elections held across Nagaland, after a gap of two decades, will commence on Saturday from 8 a.m.
