In a tragic incident, two IRBN Naga police personnel posted on election duty in Bihar reportedly died of heatstroke. Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patten expressed grief over the deaths of NAP (IR) personnel due to the extreme heat affecting the country.

Patton, who also serves as Home Minister, said Constable Akangluba died on May 26, followed by Havildar Nikiye Sumi on Friday. He emphasized that the dedication and service of these officers towards their duty and the country will always be remembered.

On behalf of the entire police department, Patton expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed.

According to reports, 14 people, including 10 election workers, have died due to heat wave in Bihar in the last 24 hours, officials said on Friday.

The Disaster Management Department said that the maximum number of deaths occurred in Bhojpur, where five election officials died due to heatstroke. Besides, three officers died in Rohtas, while one each in Kaimur and Aurangabad districts.
