Multiple organizations have expressed their condemnation of the alleged murder of Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou, the political assistant (PA) to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kohima, by two youths, Neizosetuo Kire and Khrietsonyü Whuorie, both from Kohima Village.
Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton: In a press statement, Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton denounced the incident on May 18, which resulted in the death of Kezhalelie Lawrence, PA to DC Kohima. Patton emphasized that such brutal acts have no place in a progressive society and called for a unified condemnation. He assured that top officials have been instructed to pursue justice impartially and to hold the perpetrators accountable under the law. Currently in Delhi, Patton promised to address the issue according to government procedures upon his return and extended his deepest condolences to the grieving family.
Western Angami Dobashi Association (WADA): The WADA expressed profound sadness over the incident where Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou and his son Thejavizo Miasalhou were attacked by Neizosetuo Kire and Khrietsonyü Whuorie. WADA highlighted the brutal nature of the crime against a high-ranking government official in Kohima town, raising concerns about the safety of ordinary citizens. The association called for swift justice under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and warned against any attempts to obstruct justice. WADA remembered Miasalhou as an upright individual and expressed solidarity with his family during this difficult time.
Nagaland District Administration Employees Association, Kohima (NDAEAK): The NDAEAK expressed shock and dismay over the inhuman act that led to the death of their officer, Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou. In their statement, the association described Miasalhou as a diligent and reliable public servant whose loss has alarmed the district administration and the public. NDAEAK condemned the crime and urged peace-loving citizens to support the bereaved family. They also called on law enforcement to ensure prompt justice. The association extended its condolences to Miasalhou's family and prayed for his soul's peace.
Kohima District DB Association (KDDBA): The KDDBA conveyed its profound sorrow and strong condemnation of the murder of Kezhalelie Lawrence Miasalhou, recognizing his wisdom and value to society. The association expressed its disturbance over the deliberate actions of the perpetrators, highlighting the respect traditionally given to elders in Naga culture. KDDBA demanded that the perpetrators be punished according to the highest customary law and emphasized their commitment to seeking justice. They remembered Miasalhou's legacy as a guiding inspiration and prayed for his eternal peace.
Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO): NAYO expressed shock and shame over the incident that occurred in their jurisdiction, acknowledging the negative impact on the reputation of the Northern Angami people. They strongly condemned the actions of the two youth involved and pledged full support to law enforcement for a swift investigation and justice. NAYO extended its deepest condolences to Miasalhou's family and prayed for his soul to rest in peace.
