The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will stake claim to form a new government on Friday, June 7, after a key meeting in New Delhi on June 5. 

Senior BJP leader Amit Shah affirmed the NDA's commitment to serve the nation with renewed vigor. Following Narendra Modi's resignation as Prime Minister, President Droupadi Murmu dissolved the 17th Lok Sabha but requested Modi and his ministers to continue until the new government is in place.

The NDA won 292 seats, though BJP alone did not secure a majority. If successful, Modi will become the second leader after Nehru to secure a third term.
