Lok Sabha elections: More than 59 percent voting in the fifth phase

The election day was marked by isolated incidents of violence in West Bengal. Additionally, some polling booths in West Bengal and neighboring Odisha experienced EVM malfunctions, while Maharashtra saw complaints regarding the slow voting process.
As per the Election Commission's data released around 10 pm, the estimated voter turnout stood at 59.06 percent. The overall voter turnout across the first four phases was 66.95 percent.
