State government's security advisor Kuldeep Singh met Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uike at Raj Bhavan on Thursday evening and informed about the current security situation in the state.
Giving information about the law and order situation, Singh informed the Governor about the deployment of central forces in the border areas to prevent any untoward incident.
He informed that some forces are to be recalled for some time for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, but they are likely to return and redeploy once the election process is over.
The results of the 18th Lok Sabha elections being held in different parliamentary constituencies across the country will come on June 4, 2024.
Central forces are also being deployed to guard the state's armories and escort vehicles on two national highways, i.e. NH-2 (Imphal-Dimapur Road) and NH-37 (Imphal-Jiribam Road).
The Governor directed the Security Advisor to implement all necessary measures to prevent any incident and ensure general safety of the public.
