Manipur News | Manipur: Missing Man Found Dead in Imphal West

The body of Lairenlakpam Khemannanda (27) was discovered near the veterinary office in Imphal West on June 3. Khemannanda, missing since June 1, left home to send money to his sister abroad. His bicycle and bank documents were found nearby.

Manipur police are also searching for Mayarngam Shinglai, a Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services staff member, missing since June 1. He is believed to have fallen into the Naga rivulet during recent floods.

Amid ethnic violence between Kukis and Meiteis since May 3, 29 people remain unaccounted for. Out of 64 reported missing, 26 were found deceased and nine were located alive, according to Chief Minister N. Biren Singh.
