Statement from Department of Soil and Water Conservation (DoS&WC) regarding Junior SCO appointments
Nagaland News Today |
The Department of Soil and Water Conservation (DoS&WC) has provided clarification regarding the recent appointments of two Junior Soil Conservation Officers (JSCOs). These appointments were made purely on contract basis in response to the demands of NPSC (Nagaland Public Service Commission). The department has clearly said that there is no plan to regularize these appointments.
Addressing the recent coverage in local newspapers and social media regarding the appointment of H Agape Yepthomi and Avilie Nagi and subsequent termination of contracts, DoS&WC reiterated that it has continuously filled up various vacancies through proper channels since the inception of NPSC. There is a demand to fill it.
The department emphasized that the current contractual appointments received clearance from the P&AR Department for the required posts as of June 6, 2016. These contracts were renewed annually. However, following the announcement of the NPSC/CTSE results on March 6, 2024, the DoS&WC initiated the process to terminate their contracts, which was approved on March 12, leading to the issuance of termination orders.
